In-Session Protocols

The below are specific behaviors our staff will abide by while in a home providing services:

  1.  Outings are to be restricted to open areas.

  2.  Before session, staff is taking his/her temperature to ensure it is 98.6 degrees or below

  3. Remove their shoes

  4. Proceed directly to the restroom and use the CDC guidelines to wash their hands

  5. If possible, staff are directed to provide services at a distance of 5-6 ft. from their client. If not possible due to the nature of the services being provided or goals being worked on, they will wash hands frequently during the session.

  6. Reinforcers used during session are to be new (in original packaging) or those provided by the client. Staff are restricted from bringing used reinforcers into client homes until further notice.

  7. Upon leaving the session, staff will use rubbing alcohol, disinfecting wipes or other such cleaning fluid to wipe down the door handle, steering wheel, seat and any other areas of their car that they touch or come in contact with.

  8. Wear a face mask

COVID-19 Information

Sunderlin Behavioral is committed to providing safe services. Our top priority during this time is to provide in a way that reduces risk of exposure to both our client’s and our staff. To continue with in home, face-to-face services in a way that reduces risk of exposure to both our client's and our staff, parents and caregivers who come into close contact with our staff (i.e., within 6 feet) will be required to wear a mask in the home during sessions.

Agency protocols are found below and will be updated on a regular basis as we receive additional information related to COVID-19.  Should you wish to discuss these protocols or the possibility of moving to Telehealth services during this time, please contact our Director, Yrenka Sunderlin, at sunderlinbcba@gmail.com.

Family/Client Protocols

We kindly request that any person(s) who reside with the client abide by the following safety protocols should they wish to continue receiving services during the Coronavirus Pandemic:

  1. For parents who come into close contact with our staff (i.e., within 6 feet), it will be required to wear a mask in the home during sessions, in order to ensure the safety of client/family and staff. If a parent is unable or unwilling to wear a mask, the therapist will not be able to proceed with the in-person therapy session at that time. The therapist will contact their respective Supervisor to discuss next steps.

  2. When leaving your residence for necessary items such as food, medicine, etc., ensure you and those who reside with you are at a safe distance of at least 6 feet from other people and not ingroups of any more than 5 people when in these environments.

  3. Regularly engage in the CDC’s hand-washing protocols

  4. If you or anyone you reside with are aware of having been exposed to a person who is known or believed to have COVID-19, contact me at sunderlinbcba@gmail.com to put services on hold and self-quarantine for 14 days.

  5. If you feel ill – achy, cold, flu like symptoms, fever – please contact Yrenka Sunderlin at sunderlinbcba@gmail.com to put services on hold, or opt for Telehealth and self-quarantine for 14 days.

  6. If you or someone who resides with you returns from traveling within the US or abroad, please contact Yrenka Sunderlin to put services on hold, or opt for Telehealth and self-quarantine for 14 days.

We recognize that monitoring the behavior or our clients and those with whom they reside is not typical or comfortable. Unfortunately, we are in a time that is not typical and as such, we feel it necessary to put measures in place to ensure, to the greatest degree possible, the safety of our clients and staff. We are implementing similar protocols with our staff, to  minimize exposure to COVID-19.
