Does my child still have therapy sessions when they have days off school?

Yes, with the exception of some holidays (please refer to our holiday schedule).​

What is the assessment process like?
-
Once we receive an authorization from your insurance provider, a supervisor will be in contact with you to set up an appointment. Typically, the assessment process is 1-3 appointments for an average of 1.5-2 hours. The first appointment is an intake/indirect assessment, while the remaining appointments are direct observations. Once those appointments are completed, a report will be submitted to your insurance provider with Sunderlin Behavioral's clinical recommendations.

How long does it typically take to receive an authorization?

It typically takes between 1-2 weeks, however some authorizations get approved quicker depending on your insurance provider.

If I am receiving services from another provider, how do I switch to Sunderlin?
-
You will need to contact your insurance provider directly to request Sunderlin Behavioral as your service provider. Once the request has been processed, they will notify both providers of the change.

What does a typical ABA schedule look like?
-
Each schedule is individualized based off the client's need and availability. For example, a schedule may be: Monday- Friday from 9am-12pm OR Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 3:30-5:30pm. You schedule is set based off availability and how many hours you are authorized for.

What services do you offer?

We offer services in-home, in-clinic, schools and community.

What is Sunderlin Behavioral's Cancellation Policy?
-
Appointments cancelled with less than 18-hour notice are charged a $25 cancellation fee​.

If an appointment was scheduled AND not cancelled, a “no show” fee of $50.00 will be assessed.

Are sessions in-home or in-clinic?

We offer sessions to be completely in-home or in-clinic or a combination of both.

How many hours per week will I be authorized for?

Through the assessment process we will determine the number of hours clinically appropriate based off the client's needs and developmental delays/deficits.

What do I need to do receive services?
-
In order to receive services through your insurance provider, you will need an Autism diagnosis. You will need to provide Sunderlin Behavioral with a copy of the front and back of your insurance card, a copy of the diagnostic evaluation, and the returned intake paperwork. If you don't have an Autism diagnosis then you can proceed with private pay to receive services.

CA- Aetna, Anthem, Blue Shield, Cigna, MHN, LA Care, Magellan, Optum, Beacon and TCRC.

OR- Aetna, Anthem/Regence, Blue Shield, Cigna, First Choice Health, Kaiser, Moda and Optum.

Do you accept medical as a secondary provider?

We do not accept medical or state funded insurance as a secondary, any co-pays/deductibles/etc. will be the family's financial responsibility.

What is the requirement for parent participation and sibling involvement?

We strongly encourage parent participation, this ensures they are learning behavioral strategies to support and manage their child's behaviors. ​​​
